Payday 2 Locke & Load Event Brings New Content And Free-to-Play Period

Overkill Software has kicked off its yearly Crimefest update for Payday 2, this time being dubbed the 'Locke & Load' event.

As usual, the event will feature ten days of regular free content updates as well as community participation opportunities such as Twitch livestreams and developer AMAs on Reddit.

Crimefest has been an annual tradition for the game since it first launched on Payday: the Heist's three-year anniversary in October 2014. It drew a lot of criticism from fans in 2015 when gameplay-affecting microtransactions were added, however the system was later altered to be purely cosmetic.

Locke & Load lasts between the 19th and 28th of October. The game is also free-to-play for this period and can be bought on sale for up to -80% off.
