Perception is the New Horror from some Ex-Bioshock Devs
Perception is the new narrative horror from developers The Deep End games. A team helmed by Bill Gardner, a 12 year veteran who worked on Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite.
In Perception you play as young blind woman named Cassie. She must use her skills of hearing and wits to uncover the mystery of a mansion that has been haunting her dreams. The mansion contains a ghostly presence that's tormented the inhabitants and now, it hunts Cassie. She must solve the mystery or become its next victim.
The game itself has a very unique style. As the main protagonist Cassie is blind, as is you the player. She doesn't have any weapons at hand; only her cane, her wit and smartphone. Your method of navigation is done by using echolocation, you use sound to create a picture of your surrounding.
The game is currently on Kickstarter with a goal of $150,000, it's currently sitting at $91,985 at the time of writing. So lets hope they meet their goal, as this seems to be a very unique style of narrative horror. Check out the first gameplay trailer above to get your first look and if your interested in backing view their Kickstarter here.
