Riot Games to Incorporate Discord Integration in League of Legends
The latest Dev Update included a lot of content for players to look forward to. The 2026 Season 2 Act 1: Pandemonium promises all sorts of enjoyable changes and shifts, which will keep the new season of League of Legends more engaging, especially as we move on to a longer Season that will end the year.
The final topic of conversation in the Dev Update was an upcoming Discord integration. This new system will allow players to invite everyone to their party using the Discord app, which has become the main hub for gamers (though recent controversies regarding age verification have taken many users away).
Using the invite links provided by Discord, players will be able to post them anywhere they want, working as a direct invitation to the party without having to do it one by one. This system will come in handy for larger friend groups that converge in Discord servers, ensuring that it's easy to get everyone to the party as quickly as possible, or as many members as are available, with the click of a button.

It's also likely that, although not spoken about in the Dev Update, this is tied to the Discord Shop integration that was added recently to the chat service. This allows players to gift live-service games through the app, offering a wishlist system that players can keep an eye on and reminders for birthdays and the like, which was announced on the 2nd of December 2025.
This integration will work as a "commerce experience" for gaming communities, and it started off with Marvel Rivals. This includes browsing in-game cosmetics, creating wishlists, and gifting the in-game item through the DMs, which Discord said will help "reach non-player audiences" to increase potential buyers.
While it's purely speculative that League of Legends will be shifting to use Discord's new system, it's likely that that's one of the main driving factors as to why the MOBA is looking to integrate with Discord after 10 years of both existing. Still, the Marvel Rivals shop was limited to USD for the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, and Oceania.
The Discord Integration for League of Legends is out now on Beta for the US, Canada, and Brazil.
