Rock Band Network Closed by Harmonix

After 4 years, 2,121 songs, and countless hours of investment from talented and passionate Rock Band fans around the world, Harmonix have closed the  Rock Band Network.

This marks the end of the current iteration of Rock Band, although the developers assure fans that not a day goes by without one of them talking about Rock Band and the future of the franchise.

Sadly, the ultimate death of the RBN was caused by technical issues, after the DLC channel was closed in February, server side and external issues broke the RBN in a way that meant with resources being diverted to other projects it just was not a viable entity any more.

images 12The Creators side of Rock Band will not be restored by Harmonix as technical hurdles involved in such a move would make attempting it far from feasible. Some of the developers who originally worked on the service don't even work at Harmonix any longer which would make reactivating the service even on a temporary basis insurmountable.

Creators who wish to contact Harmonix for support, or to get their work removed from the store can email Harmonix via rbn-admin@harmonixmusic.com.
