Runescape Introduces New Elite Dungeons

Runescape Introduces New Elite Dungeons

After 17 years, RuneScape is still one of the most popular MMOs. The enduring title has seen countless changes, expansions, updates and additions, but mindbogglingly, it didn't have any kind of raiding system. Note, that's didn't, because as of the 26th of June 2018, it now does. The new Elite Dungeons are the game's answer to World of Warcraft's raids or Eve Online's incursions.

The first Elite Dungeon to enter the game is The Temple of Aminishi, which is in The Arc archipelago. Unlike most MMO raids though, it's a flexible affair, which gives players the option to group up for greater rewards, or solo if they're just not feeling all that sociable.

Lead Designer Dave Osborne said:

“Elite Dungeons are a great way of delivering raid-like experiences without having to gather together a large group of friends and clanmates. The launch of the Temple of Aminishi offers a brilliant way to experience the continuation of The Arc storyline we began in RuneScape a couple of years ago, with a compelling tale and challenging bosses to overcome. We’re really excited to see what players think as they battle their way to Seiryu’s chamber and learn the secrets of the azure water serpent.”

The story doesn't end with this first Elite Dungeon though, as more are set to come in the future. The Temple of Aminishi will be complemented by a second dungeon coming later this summer,  meaning players can look forward to even more content very soon.
