Rust - What's New in May 2020's Content Update

The updates just keep coming for Facepunch's online survival game Rust. Each month, more exciting additions, gear and high-tech base building options are introduced to keep the game fresh and the community alive. Last month saw a complete overhaul of the game's farming mechanics, and while this month won't bring in any similarly dramatic changes, there's still a handful of goodies and surprises worth checking out:

Night Vision Goggles - Adding some balance to the oppressively dark nights, this high-end piece of gear will make its owner a force to be reckoned with come sundown.

Electric Heaters - Requiring 'three power' to run, electric heaters add a slice of home comfort to bases located in inhospitably cold environments. Cosy up with your friends and enjoy this modern luxury!

Water Pump - This new deployable item can be placed in any body of water. Requiring 'five power', it collects 150ml of water per minute. Not as convenient as turning on a bathroom tap, sure, but beggars can't be choosers I guess.

Powered Water Purifier - Another water-based deployable. This one, however, purifies already collected water at a much faster rate than the campfire purifier.

Fluid Combiner - Rounding off this water-tech trifecta, the Fluid Combiner lets players combine multiple sources of water into one output—efficient.

In addition, tweaks have been made to the Farming 2.0 update: plants are easier to maintain at 'optimal' levels of water saturation and 'Plant Genetics' have been adjusted to make growing them easier.

The May 2020 update for Rust is out now.
