Croteam is back after nine years with its first-person shooting classic, Serious Sam 4. Sam's back, he's got a small army's worth of guns and—thanks to the new 'Legion System'—there are more foes to fight than ever. Check Sam out in the trailer above, and mark your calendars for August when Serious Sam 4 releases on Steam and Stadia.
Mental, villain of the Serious Sam series, has returned with a larger army of minions than ever: Rocketeers, Kleers, Scrapjacks, iconic Kamikaze Chargers and more! Humanity is once again in danger, it's down to Sam and his team of "misfit commandos" to tackle the invading forces by circle strafing, back-pedalling and shooting until nothing's left moving.
New for the series in this entry: up to four players can team up to take on the legions of foes across a myriad of main and side missions. No local co-op unfortunately; it's online only here.
As mentioned, the new 'Legion System' looks to up the ante from earlier enemy-filled games in the series. Thousands of enemies will flood levels at the same time; there's no telling how many bullets it'll take to mow 'em all down.
Serious Sam 4 releases August 2020 on Steam and Google Stadia.
