Set Sail For Black Desert Online's The Great Expedition Update

Set Sail For Black Desert Online's The Great Expedition Update

Get your backpacks ready for Korean MMO Black Desert Online’s latest update, The Great Expedition when it launches globally on 23rd October.

This swashbuckling update features a number of changes to the way boats and sea exploration works, including new current and wind mechanics to make sailing more realistic, new barter systems and a brand new ocean boss fight: Khan.

Alongside these new mechanics comes a host of upgrade-able ships and sailors to keep you busy and a variety of new materials needed to get you to the exciting Carrack vessel, said to be the pride of any player’s armada.

You will need to master the new sailor system to make the best of your ship’s abilities, however there will be difficulty in recruiting and balancing the amount of sailors on your crew.

Developer Pearl Abyss said: “We are striving to make the ocean-themed content just as engaging as the land-based content with the addition of new systems and content.”

This alongside the added barter system means you will be working towards securing fantastical booty, the game has set out a single location where players can barter for treasure, which changes every four hours meaning time is of the essence.

Barter enough and you can get your hands on special sea coins, a currency that will buy you desirable items including the mysterious Heart of Khan.

In order to get these items on time you will need to make use of the new wind mechanics given to you, using the user interface update you can manipulate your vessel’s speed, leaving rivals in the dust.

There is yet more to come from Black Desert Online as The Great Expedition is only the start, for more information check out the Black Desert Online homepage and start your free seven day trial now.

"Bartering is a great way to earn money in the game whilst being semi-afk." Yeh, but this might be good for grinders, not players :P Am a player, not a grinder and that's already a different thing! I want to enjoy the game, not do mundane activities... I would rather do my homework if would willing want to do the boring stuff (that will never happen). I agree that Silver is good, you will need a lot of it while playing Black Desert Online, but that not to say that you will have do it yourself...
