Shenmue 3 Sets New Kickstarter Record

It's been well over a decade since Shenmue 2, and when a successor was unveiled at E3, fans wasted no time at all in ensuring that Shenmue 3 would become a reality.

Shenmue 3 entered its final 24 hours on Kickstarter a little earlier today, and a surge in funding means that it is now the most funded videogame in Kickstarter history, surpassing Koji Igashari's $5.6M record for Bloodstained.

At the time of writing, Shenmue 3 sits at $5.8M with a little under six hours left, just $200,000 short of the nearest stretch goal, 'Battle System Expanded Advanced Free Battle'
