Sirius Online Going Free to Play

Sirius Online Going Free to Play

We reported a few months ago that Sirius Online had stopped active development, whilst the team worked on porting it across to the Unreal 4 Engine from its current one. Work on that is still ongoing, but Digital Dawn Studios have announced a slight change.

The original version is being renamed to Sirius Online Classic, and moving to free to play! If you already own Sirius Online, you will still get a copy of the Unreal 4 version, but for now this will hopefully bring more players in.

The team are busy at work squashing bugs and making changes (you won't be able to swap ships unless at a station, for instance), and hope to have it available within the next 24 hours.

At the moment it is compatible with the Steam version, but it may not be for future updates. In that case (and if you don't have it in your Steam library) you can download it from Itch.io or Indie DB. Of course, you could always download it DRM-free straight from us!

We'll post up when it goes live, and provide some direct links.
