On the 18th of May, Spike Chunsoft, Inc. showed off a brand new trailer for their upcoming AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES - nirvanA Initiative. This trailer revealed a sample of the characters that would appear, including some that return from the developer's prior title, AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES.

The characters presented include Mizuki, an ABIS special agent looking into a series of strange deaths; Aiba, her investigation assistant; Ryuki, another ABIS special agent investigating the same case as Mizuki six years prior; Tama, his investigation assistant; Kizuna, a senior at Sekiba High and Mizuki's friend; Lien, a large locksmith with old dreams of becoming a pilot; Amame, who works as a mermaid maid at a maid café known as Sunfish Pocket; Gen, the owner of Brahman World Cuisine who wears an odd mascot mask; Komeji, a comedian who was hosting the show that the first strange body turned up at; Shoma, a 6th grader who solved a secret code; Tokiko, the president of the Japan Branch of the secret society NAIXATLOZ; Chikara, the director of the Horadori Institute of Genetics; and an as of yet unknown masked woman.

As an added bonus, the trailer also mentions some limited-time DLC. Available for three weeks after the game launches, the "3-Pattern T-Shirt Set" and "Hot Dog Costume Set" can unlock brand new outfits for Aiba and Tama to wear in-game.

Additionally, the game can now be pre-ordered on Nintendo.com, the Nintendo eShop, and Xbox.com, with wishlisting also available on the PlayStation Store. AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES - nirvanA Initiative will be released for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows on the 8th of July, 2022 in Europe and Oceania and on the 24th of June, 2022 in North America.
