Splatoon 2 Splashes Down with a New Update

You may have noticed that the update tracker in the upper right corner of your Splatoon 2 home screen has morphed from 5.0.0 to 5.0.1. This numerical uptick might agitate those with a preference for round numbers, but will undoubtedly warm the hearts of those who see this at the indication that Nintendo still desires to deliver a stellar play experience, even in the twilight of the unconventional shooter’s lifespan. If this minor quality-of-life update is any indication, it seems as though Splatoon 2’s developers will continue to look after their dedicated community right up until the unannounced-yet-inevitable Splatoon 3 inksplodes onto the scene.

No major content additions are present in this update. Indeed, the changes seem focused around minor bug fixes concerning special weapons and squashing a few map exploits.
