Square Enix Is Finally Launching Final Fantasy XIV Online on Xbox Series X|S

At the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Fest 2023, hosted in Las Vegas, Xbox gamers received an exciting announcement: FINAL FANTASY XIV Online is officially set to launch on Xbox Series X|S in Spring 2024, just 10 years after it made its way onto the PlayStation 4 in 2014. Additionally, the game is scheduled for an open beta with Patch 6.5x, featuring 4K support and faster loading times.

Final Fantasy XIV Xbox Announcement

Final Fantasy XIV’s expansions have been hit after hit, with the game steadily growing in popularity and even selling out of digital versions in 2021 after a surge of players flooded Square Enix’s digital storefronts. In fact, the game is widely known for its generous Free Trial system, allowing players to experience much of Eorzea with no restrictions on playtime. Xbox confirmed that FFXIV’s Expanded Free Trial will be coming to Xbox Series X|S, letting players enjoy the entirety of A Realm Reborn, Heavensward, and Stormblood expansions up to level 70!

It’s a lot of content, but even if you like to play solo, you don't have to do it alone! FFXIV will include a Duty Support system specially crafted for single-player fans, allowing you to tackle content with a party of NPC allies. Once the open beta arrives with Patch 6.5x, you can complete the main story dungeons solo and at your own pace!

Final Fantasy XIV Online is available now on PC, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4. Stay tuned for more details about the Xbox launch!
