Star Trek: Bridge Crew Removed From Sale

Star Trek: Bridge Crew Removed From Sale

Ubisoft's VR game set in the Star Trek universe is no longer on sale on Steam or PlayStation Store as of 11th February.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew saw players in command of a starship as it completed various missions such as scanning planets or rescuing civilians. While you could just give orders to the AI characters from the comfort of your command chair, you could also team up with some friends to each take a position on the bridge.

Since Star Trek: Bridge Crew was released on PC and PlayStation VR in 2017, it appears that the license which Ubisoft produced the game under is coming to an end. You can no longer buy it on the Oculus store, Steam or the PlayStation store, nor the DLC based on Star Trek The Next Generation.

However, you can still buy keys to use on both Steam and the Oculus stores directly from the Ubisoft Store and the Fanatical site. You can also find Steam codes on other storefronts such as the Humble Store, too.

It's a curious decision given the fact that 2022 is a big year for Star Trek. New seasons of Discovery, Picard, and Lower Decks, as well as the first seasons of Brave New Worlds and Prodigy. There are several reasons which could be behind the license not being taken up again, but we have reached out to Ubisoft for comment.
