STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor Buyers Get First Post-launch Patch and Apology

The release of EA and Respawn Entertainment’s STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor has been a rocky one. While outlets such as IGN and Noisy Pixel rated the game between 8.5 and 10, Jedi: Survivor is in fact plagued with intense technical issues on all platforms, preventing consumers from being able to enjoy their experience.

As a result of this tumultuous launch, developer Respawn Entertainment has publicly released the following statement.

While the apology does not mention the Xbox Series X|S or PlayStation 5 versions of the game, the official @EAStarWars Twitter account did confirm patches were on the way to fix the many issues players have been experiencing on consoles, such as crashes, rendering problems, and massive FPS drops.

Having applied the new patch for Xbox Series X, I can say that there has been a noticeable improvement in Jedi: Survivor's performance.

Thus far, 2023 has been marred with big AAA games releasing in terrible states. Forspoken, Hogwarts Legacy, The Last of Us Part I, STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor, and Redfall have all suffered from staggering performance issues on launch day. One has to ask themselves, how many apologies does the public need to endure before publishers and developers change their way of doing things? And are AAA games still worth the high price out of your pay cheque if such a change does not come to pass? Let us know your thoughts on the matter down in the comments section.
