System Shock Remaster Announced

NightDive Studios have teased a new Kickstarter project, coming on the 29th June. The company owns the rights to the classic System Shock games, considered the spiritual successors to the Deus Ex and Bioshock franchises. Having already re-released both games on Steam and GOG to great success, the company plans to take to Kickstarter in the hopes of remaking the original in a modern style.

Originally released in 1994 by Origin Systems, the game was developed by Looking Glass Technologies. With both of those companies now defunct, it’s up to NightDive to bring the franchise back to former glories. The game is set aboard a space station in 2027. With a rogue AI called SHODAN threatening the lives of everyone aboard, you play the unnamed protagonist who must hack in to quell the computer’s rage
