It's been ten years since the release of the first Yakuza game on the PS2 in Europe. In that time, the series has evolved and adapted, but many fans still hold a special place in their heart for the one that started all.
With the western release of the remake Yakuza Kiwami coming in the summer of 2017, Sega are hoping to appease those fans who hold the first game so dear. The PS4 exclusive will be published in the Americas by Sega and in Europe by Deep Silver.
The title is completely rebuilt from scratch, with much more changed compared to 2013 HD re release that saw life on the PS3 and Wii U. Kiwami adds tons of new story depth over the PS2 original, new distractions around the in-game setting of Kamurocho, added side quests, updated mechanics and combat, and much more. Topping it all off, Yakuza Kiwami will be getting both physical and digital editions, and for the first time in the west, will exclusively feature a re-recording of the original Japanese dialogue.
