The Game Awards 2021 Winners
We all look forward to this time of year. Some may look forward to it due to the holiday season, some due to the promise of a new upcoming year, and others like me look forward to it because of the Game of the Year awards given by so many different companies — most notably, The Game Awards.
Well, I sat down, cooked some delicious food and watched the four hours worth of content to bring you all of the winners for The Game Award's Game of the Year Livestream!
Games for Impact
This category rewards the games with the most thought-provoking and pro-social meaning or message within its narrative. The nominees were:
- Before Your Eyes
- Boyfriend Dungeon
- Chicory: A Colorful Tale
- Life is Strange: True Colors
- No Longer Home
And the winner for this year's Games for Impact award was none other than Life is Strange: True Colors!
Reddit's Choice Game of the Year
This category has many members of the community in r/gaming voting among all of the nominees. With 11.2k votes, the nominees were:
- DEATHLOOP with 1.2k votes.
- It Takes Two with 1.9k votes.
- Metroid Dread with 1.9k votes.
- Psychonauts 2 with 1.3k votes.
- Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart with 1.6k votes.
- Resident Evil Village with 3.3k votes.
Resident Evil Village took the Game of the Year community edition with a vast majority voting, 1.4k votes higher than the second runner up title It Takes Two.
Best Esports Athlete
Up next are some esports awards, starting off with Best Esports Athlete. They will be judged to be the most outstanding for their performance and conduct in 2021, irrespective of the game. The nominees are:

Videogames are slowly becoming more and more of an art form, and as such some require actors to play the role as best as possible. This award is given to an individual for voice-over acting, motion, and/or performance capture, and the nominees for 2021 were:
