The Last Case of Benedict Fox Launches This April

Lovecraftian Metroidvania The Last Case of Benedict Fox is set to launch this April, and a free demo is now available during Steam Next Fest, which will end on 13th February 2023.

The Last Case Of Benedict Fox

Rogue Games and Plot Twist Studio have also released 16 minutes of gameplay footage, which starts after Benedict finds his deceased father. Along with insightful developer commentary, it showcases many puzzles, Lovecraftian horrors, and mysterious Victorian Gothic environments — promising a twisted world to explore. The game is set in 1925 Boston, and you’ll play as the eponymous self-proclaimed detective bound to his demon companion, searching for the truth behind a family tragedy. It’s no simple task; you’ll fight dangerous enemies, traverse the arcane realm of Limbo, and risk succumbing to insanity. While your demon companion gives you the unique ability to delve into memories of dead people, the demon-enhanced combat system will let you utilise environmental surroundings, weapons, and traversal abilities to overcome the dangerous foes you find there.

The Gothic cinematic design and early 20th-century jazz music are also inspired by film noir and Lovecraftian nightmares. You can enjoy this chilling experience when The Last Case of Benedict arrives on 27th April 2023 on the Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. In the meantime, try out the demo available through Steam Next Fest.
