The Latest Modern Warfare is the Best Performing Call of Duty in Years

To the surprise of nobody, the recent reboot of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has become the most played and best performing entry in the series for six years. Activision is pleased to report $1 Billion in total sales and a higher player-count than any other Call of Duty game this generation; players are also spending more hours in-game than any previous entry this console generation.

Byron Beede, Executive Vice President for Call of Duty, expresses his enthusiasm by stating: "The momentum for Modern Warfare from day one has been incredible. Players are having a great time and are continuing to engage across the multiplayer experience at the highest level in years".

As well as the obvious nostalgic appeal of using the Modern Warfare name, this entry's success can also be attributed to the additional DLC all coming free of charge. The first season of content is available now, bringing new maps, Special Ops missions and multiplayer game modes to the game on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
