The Publisher for the Upcoming Danganronpa-inspired Horror, Kumitantei, Has Been Revealed! Watch the Trailer

Developed by Mango Factory LLC., Kumitantei: Old-School Slaughter is an upcoming murder mystery visual novel with ADV cardbattling. Players can expect a comedic detective experience set in 1989. Now, it has been revealed that it will be published by Akupara Games!

Inspired by '80s anime and Rumiko Takahashi’s Urusei Yatsura, the visual style looks like retro anime, allowing the characters to convey their emotions better, be it for the drama or the comedy.

Selina Kibara, Creative Director, had the following to say about the game:

I've always wanted to make things because I loved other things. Kumitantei is the product of us wanting to put a bunch of our favourite media into a blender and create something new from existing pieces, wearing our inspirations on our sleeve. When I was a kid I watched so much older anime and played so many adventure games, I fell madly in love with them, so I wanted to make a game that was as big of a tribute to them as I possibly could. So many developers now seem almost embarrassed to embrace the media that's inspired them, whether out of legal concerns or fear of being called derivative. I'd rather make something derivative than something insincere.
