The Steam Awards — When Do Nominations Close?
It's the final stretch to the end of the year, as gamers all around the world scramble to catch up with the audiences, even more so with the especially packed year that 2026 has been. From Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 to PEAK, from the release of the enigmas Hollow Knight: Silksong and Deltarune to Hades II, there are just too many big titles to keep up with, and that's only a scratch on the surface.
The Steam Awards is a great way for audiences to celebrate the prior year with a final "hurrah", nominating their favourite titles, and then voting for the ones that make it to the final phase. As a yearly recurring event, it's an exciting time to nominate your favourites (even if you doubt they'll make it to the end!) and show support to the titles you loved.
If you're interested in trying to keep up with the trend and making sure that you've played the latest title, you might be a bit iffy on hitching to a specific nomination. There's not a lot of time left to get gaming out of the way and try out everything; however, as the Steam Awards favour the voting period's length over the nomination one, you'll want to get to it as quickly as you can.
As it stands, the Steam Awards' closing date for nomination is the 1st of December at 17:00 GMT. After that point, the Steam Awards will enter the voting period, and free nominations will be closed down to the public, instead focusing on choosing your favourites from each of the 11 categories.
