The Waylanders Delayed

The Waylanders Delayed

The Waylanders, the RPG set on a Celtic and Medieval time-travel story, has been delayed.

Gato Salvaje Studios made the decision to delay the full release due to feeling that releasing this month would not provide the quality experience the fans of the game deserved.

Although the team states they are upset that they couldn't release the game before the holidays, after an internal review on the game, the decision was that the team needed more time to polish the game.

The delay is in big part due to the COVID-19 pandemic making development challenging for the team. Instead, Gato Salvaje opted to not release the game that has been in development for nearly four years, as they decided it wouldn't make anyone happy. Their ideal vision is to have the best possible day one release version.

However, that doesn't mean that The Waylanders won't be receiving any updates, and instead, the team decided to release Early Access updates to improve areas already available in the game, such as The Cave of Eternity and the Fomorian World in The Corrupted Cove. Along with the improvements, the updates will also add the remaining text localization for multiple Celtic era quests and fix some of the reported bugs.

That isn't the only treat Gato Salvaje has for us, however, for they announced that when The Waylanders launches this spring, players will have the opportunity to jump forward a thousand years from Celtic times into the Medieval era. In doing so, this will unlock three Advanced Classes for each of the six classes already available in the Early Access.

The new release date for The Waylanders is set for the 2nd of February, and we wish we could travel forward in time to play the full version already!
