Titanfall Expedition DLC Announced
Respawn Entertainment has announced the first DLC for Titanfall that will deliver new maps and hit the virtual shelves sometime in May.
Called Expedition, the DLC will be three new maps which take place after the game's multiplayer campaign. Swampland, the map featured in most of the promo art, will be an Everglades-style location full of "archaic alien technology" and trees that players can climb using wall-running. The map Runoff is apparently loosely connected to Swampland, and will feature "pipes and water". The final map War Games apparently takes place in some sort of training simulator for Titan pilots, although developers won't reveal more than that at the moment.
The DLC was announced during a retrospective panel at PAX 2014, where Respawn discussed the game's development, and some plans for future updates. Developers told the audience that a Titanfall update adding extra burn cards and a 2v2 mode is already in the works, and they're considering adding features like competitive rankings and customizable Titans. The panel also mentioned Respawn is looking into giving players the option to toggle the HUD during video capture, which has been frequently requested by fans.
No official word on the price of Expedition, but Respawn Entertainment announced that a season pass for Titanfall would cost $24.99 USD earlier this month.
