Underworld Ascendant Trailer Showcases Interactivity

Underworld Ascendant is a fantasy-themed immersive sim in the vein of last year's Prey and the classic Thief and System Shock series. The developer, known for the Ultima Underground games, promises a return to The Stygian Abyss with unrivaled interactivity with the game's world.

This obsessive attentiveness to the relationship between world and player is showcased in the newest trailer for the game.

In this video, we see the character jumping about, setting fire to arrows, dropping chandeliers on spooky skeletons' heads, and making platforms using physics objects. The RPG's meat is not detailed here (the stat leveling and whatnot, if the game contains that sort of thing), but the potatoes are showcased in full force.

At this point, the game is set for launch in September. There's not much evidence regarding quality as of now but there will be a playable demo at E3 this year. Maybe this one could turn out to be something immersive sim and RPG fans can get behind.
