Warhorse Studios (Kingdom Come: Deliverance Franchise) Fires Translator in Favour of AI

In a recent reddit post on the r/kingdomcome subreddit, a user by the name of u/ThousandDemons (real name Max H as per the post) came forward claiming that they worked for Warhorse Studios and had been fired in an effort to make the company more effective. Essentially, Max mentioned that during his impromptu call, he had been replaced for AI translations going forward.

For the unaware, Warhorse Studios is the team behind the highly successful Kingdom Come: Deliverance franchise, as one of the winners of our 2026 Game of the Year awards. It also went on to become one of the best-selling titles of the year, being praised for the well-written narrative, characters, and mediaeval RPG elements.

The Czech to English translator said that, on the 27th of March, the team told Max H that his position at the company would become obsolete. This was after the team had, allegedly, spoken at length about AI in translation, which the translator vehemently opposed.

Subreddit moderator Tabnam reached out to confirm Max's position at Warhorse, and it was confirmed that the translator had worked with the company for three years and nine months.

Since then, the reviews (and top reviews) of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II have taken up the topic against AI use and Warhorse's firing of Max H. This isn't the first time that AI is used to translate a title, as historically, 11 bit studios' The Alters and its Portuguese subtitles have been inaccurate, with a prompt included in the text.

From our side, we've recently released our public stance against AI, and hope that Warhorse Studios rethinks its decision to fire such a pivotal job. For a narrative-driven experience, proper translation is imperative.
