Wreckfest: PlayStation 5 Upgrade Details Confirmed

Details surrounding the PlayStation 5 upgrade for demolition derby sim Wreckfest have been confirmed. The upgraded version will release on the 1st June 2021 as both a digital and physical release on the PlayStation 5 costing $39.99/€39.99/£34.99. Existing owners of the game will not receive a free upgrade, however, and will have to pay an additional $9.99/€9.99 (sterling equivalent TBA) to receive the improved edition.

The upgraded version will include the following features:

• Dynamic dirt
• Improved shadows, particles and environment lighting
• Higher resolution textures
• Increased foliage
• Godrays
• New visual effects for skidmarks
• DualSense haptic feedback
• Vastly improved loading times

The Xbox Series X|S upgrade for Wreckfest released for free in mid-March as part of the Woodland Dash update. However, it appears to be a less significant upgrade than this upcoming PlayStation one, merely upping the framerate and resolution.

The PlayStation 5 version of Wreckfest will release on the 1st June 2021.
