X4: Cradle of Humanity Expansion Receives Release Date

German studio EGOSOFT has announced that Cradle of Humanity, the second expansion to 2018's X4: Foundations, will release on the 16th March 2021 for PC via Steam and GOG.

The expansion will return to a familiar locale, Earth, adding the Terran faction to already expansive space simulation sandbox. Along with a whole new storyline, this also means more weapons, ships, economies and stations.

In addition to this paid expansion, a new update will release for all owners of the game when it launches on the 16th March. This update (version 4.0) will be the game's most feature-packed yet, bringing new gameplay features like terraforming in addition to a suite of quality-of-life improvements.
