Yoshi's New Island Coming to Nintendo 3DS

Yoshi's New Island is the latest incarnation of the Yoshi's Island series of games. This version is for the Nintendo 3DS and 2DS. It is due for release in Spring 2014.

Yoshi's New Island appears to be more of the same platform game goodness we expect from Nintendo. In the trailer we can see coin collecting, platform jumping, fire escaping and bad guy eating.

A new edition to the game appears to be that when Yoshi eats a bad guy he now appears to literally poop them out as balls of the same scale as the monster. We can see him devour a huge enemy and then summon a gigantic ball from his backside which demolishes at least half a screen.

Just when you thought Nintendo couldn't get any more random they give us this... We look forward to seeing more as the release date approaches.
