Hozy Preview
A while back, my wife found Hozy during one of her weekly news pieces about releases and demos and decided to show it to me because it heavily focuses on decorating, which is one of my favourite things to do in games. Developed by Come On Studio and published by tinyBuild, this upcoming no-stress title is a relaxing experience best described as House Flipper meets Unpacking.
The premise is quite simple — there are various homes, and players have to clean them up before unpacking a bunch of items to decorate them with. This is where the comparison to the other two games comes from, as it offers both the cathartic cleaning of House Flipper and the satisfying unpacking and decorating combo of Unpacking, but it gives the player complete control.
Each location feels like somewhat of a diorama due to the angle, and the camera can zoom in quite a bit, allowing for even blind bats like me to see every little detail. The controls are intuitive and comfortable, making it gratifying to clean and decorate.

Despite watching trailers and scouring the Steam page — as any excited gamer spends their time doing — I couldn't fathom just how satisfying the animations are. Everything is snappy and bouncy, and the tools feel very comfortable to use, even at what might seem an awkward angle at first sight.
Although I didn't play through the whole demo, I cleaned up and decorated two of the available houses. Both felt very different and offered a wide variety of tools and activities, such as cleaning windows and sweeping a patio!
I was so pleasantly surprised by the experience that it felt almost degrading for me to compare it to the lovechild of two other games. I spent a good amount of time on both locations I played through, and I was beyond charmed.

The various animations and background sound effects really bring each diorama-like level to life. It felt personal to go through each character's boxes and lay out what would be their house, especially as I had control over every little detail.
Once every box is emptied out, the level opens up the ability to finish it. This meant I was able to choose which furniture items would remain, offering a level of freedom that I wasn't expecting... though, again, it's a no-stress game. Its only purpose is to help you relax, which is amazing, and it did a fantastic job at it.
As I set things up, I took the time to click the various items so that I could see the animations and bring even more warmth to each level. Something as simple as turning on the candles on the table made it feel more than just a room in a game — I could almost be there in my mind!
Hozy has its own personality, and it shines through every bit of the gameplay. Its gentleness allows players to enjoy the game at their own pace and choose what they do with each space; it's really the epitome of the no-stress genre, but don't let that scare you off if that's not your thing. You can take it as seriously as you please, and that is fantastic.

If you've got any interest in it, I suggest trying out the demo whenever you can. The GIFs, the images, and my own words don't do justice to the evident love poured into every feature and little detail in-game! If you do, make sure to wishlist the title to show support.
Hozy is set to release on the 30th of March 2026.
