We Gotta Go Preview
Have you ever been in a situation where you’re on the road or in town, and you suddenly feel the undeniable call of nature (as in the restroom kind)? It can be a very stressful time, as finding a room to powder your nose in close by may not be a viable option. Well, now there’s a game about it… kinda. In FuzzyBot’s upcoming comedic co-op title, We Gotta Go, your pants are on the line.
The setting for the game is simple: the players really, really need the bathroom and end up finding a mansion that could answer their porcelain needs. However, the house is very much haunted and keeps the latrine locked up. The intrepid adventurers must venture into the labyrinthine halls to find the key to the closet of decency without having the crap scared out of them.

The mansion itself is a randomly generated mesh of rooms with different challenges. These vary from a regular space with traps or monsters to outerplanar dimensions filled with floating puzzles and a purple haze. The players have little idea where the fabled key is, so it’s mostly a mad dash to search every nook and cranny! Thankfully, the bathroom seekers don’t have to stick together for the experience, so splitting up is an option, though there is strength in numbers.
In addition to the odd snare or bottomless pit, the building is also filled with irate ghosts and other ghouls keen on driving the players out of their domain. To fight off these cursed combatants, the players have a mighty kick to throw out and can pick up weapons to swing around. Any gear found has limited durability, however, so avoiding combat when possible is a good call.

In a brilliant bit of design, the game features a gastrointestinal tract gauge that serves as both a health and stamina meter for players. As they perform arduous tasks, like sprinting, fighting, or jumping, the gut will slowly fill with gas. Once full, the players need to sound the horns of battle to relieve some pressure, though it can be done pre-emptively as well. However, every time a player takes damage, faecal matter will start filling up the tract, reducing the amount of stamina one can use.
If a posterior-clenching warrior takes too many hits, nature will prevail, and a mess will be made. Luckily, the player does have a lifeline in the form of pants; if worn, these fabric miracles will tank the mess and allow for continued play, reducing the built-up beaver dam in the process. Regretfully, the apparel does not survive the experience.

Now, as I mentioned before, the house is haunted. However, in this case, it means a bit more than being filled with ghosts: the home itself is sentient and does not appreciate the players messing about and breaking wind all over the place. As enemies are defeated and gas is leaked, a “house anger” meter will fill. Once topped up, a horde of enemies will descend on the players, making exploration ( and cracking thunder) a bit more deadly.
Once the key is located, things become even more hectic as the players race to find the unlocked room and sit on their porcelain seats of victory. As the group frantically runs, the home will throw anything and everything at them, making for a cinematic and difficult final spurt!

We Gotta Go is a pretty fun and humorous little title. The early build I got to try out was not exactly complex in its mechanics, but it didn’t need to be; the simple gameplay, ridiculous situation, and creative enemies were a giggle-worthy experience, especially with friends. I look forward to seeing what the devs think to add to the whole, though I have no doubt there will be more toilet humour involved.
We Gotta Go is being developed by FuzzyBot and published by Mad Mushroom. It is set to be released on the 14th of April, 2026.
