Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Island Rescue Days 4, 5 and 6

Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Island Rescue Days 4, 5 and 6

The ongoing saga of bringing the Animal Crossing: New Horizon island that my kids created and quickly deforested back to life to get at least a three-star rating.

Day 4
It was the 23rd of November already and kitty2021 looks a lot better than when I first started, but it still hasn’t been enough to change the two star score that Isabelle gave it. I totally underestimated how long improving the island was going to take! So I figured I’ll just keep on doing what I have been trying, more flowers, fruit trees, and tons of watering.

Isabelle shared a DIY recipe to make mushroom wreaths out of all the mushrooms that are growing around the island, so I figured I would make one and hang it on my front door for a bit of decoration.

My watering can, shovel, and net all broke. Timmy and Tommy don’t sell stuff that is meant to last forever! I wonder how many bells I have paid so far to replace broken tools…

Day 5
It was the 24th of November and there were a couple new things happening on the island. Red maple leaves started falling everywhere, so I decided that I would try to make a DIY recipe with them. However, I totally underestimated how difficult it was to catch leaves with a net. It is going to take me forever to catch enough leaves to make decorative leaf piles to place around the island!

Kicks visited the island with his collection of socks, so I made sure to buy a pair of cute knee-high socks before he left. Along with shopping I did my usual routine of plant watering, weed picking, and tree planting. This is getting tedious, I hope my efforts pay off soon!

At least tomorrow is Turkey Day on the island so that will add some excitement! Blathers announced that he is adding works of fine art to the museum; so now we play the waiting game and hope that Redd will come to the island soon to see some of his artworks.

Day 6
It was the 25th of November so that means that Turkey Day was finally here. Yay! The island invited a world-class chef named Franklin (who happens to be a turkey) to the island to cook for all the residents. Obviously it wasn’t a traditional turkey meal, but instead a meal that you had to help him prepare. The first ingredient he required you to find was clams to make clam chowder. To find the manilla clams you had to go to the beach and watch for a small black dot that shoots out water. Once you found the spot, all you had to do was pull out your trusty shovel and dig it up. Of course, after I dug up my first clam the shovel broke. So after a quick detour to Nook’s Cranny, ingredient hunting continued.

After the clam chowder was made I was rewarded with a Turkey Rug, then tasked with finding two different coloured pumpkins for the pie. I personally didn’t have any pumpkins, so I checked both of my sons’ accounts. They didn’t either, but Franklin told me to ask other villagers and make some trades to get them. I had talked to Gigi the frog and she wanted a dab fish. So I thought “that’s easy, I’ll just go fishing”. However, after an hour of catching every other fish that wasn’t a dab, I gave up.

My pumpkin plans dashed, I headed over to Resident Services to talk to Isabelle and see if the island ranking had improved at all. It was still stuck at two stars, and she told me to just water the flowers. But instead of just doing that, I am also going to start to place furniture around the island and see if that helps; my co-worker had told me when she was stuck trying to get to three stars, that had helped. So we will see if the island of kitty2021 can get the little push it needs to get that extra star.
