Five Reasons to Play Junkster

Five Reasons to Play Junkster

Here is a list of five reasons why you should check out Junkster, in addition to the great review of the game written by GameGrin’s own Mike Crewe (which you should check out here if you haven’t already.)

  • Each mission is contained within its own comic book that you, as an alien, are reading. We see comic panels that transition into the level where we take control of UM-13. Junkster does an amazing job at recreating the feel of a graphic novel.

  • You can collect stickers, which I love! As a child, I had multiple books filled with all the different characters displayed in them. In Junkster, you also have one of these books with three unique locations that span over two pages to place all the stickers you have found and show off your collection.

  • Stickers aren't the only thing you collect here; whenever you successfully complete a stage, you get the action figure that is attached to the front of the comic book. These are super cool and work great to motivate you to keep playing!

  • This isn’t your typical 3D platformer; you play as an adorable robot named UM-13, who uses scrap he finds to build and solve puzzles to clear the stage. Some of the solutions are tricky to discover, but when you figure them out, it is very rewarding!

  • No matter the console you check it out on (I am playing Junkster on the Nintendo Switch 2) Junkster looks and runs great. The visual style of this game, paired with impressive-looking animations, makes it feel like a comic that has come to life; it is so unique!

These are just a few of the reasons that have made me fall in love with Junkster; I highly recommend checking this game out. If you are a fan of 3D platformers, comic books, or collecting fun things like stickers and action figures, you will enjoy playing this game!
