The Most Anticipated Games Up To Christmas AD

The Most Anticipated Games Up To Christmas

If you’re like many people, you can’t wait for 2020 to be over. Everything was going on just fine. Then the pandemic hit and everyone’s life plans were put in jeopardy. Still, to be clear, 2020 wasn’t the worst year for gamers.

Think about it. Most people have been in quarantine since March. And lots of businesses have had to close. But for Twitch streamers, Pro-gamers and viewers, gaming never stopped. And for that reason, developers will continue to release new games until the year is up.

In case you’re wondering, below is a list of some of the biggest games yet to be released. We’re talking about games scheduled to be out by Christmas.

Cyberpunk 2077 — 19th November

Name a more anticipated videogame this year. We’ll wait. Cyberpunk 2077 has been a long time in the making. So, anything short of a phenomenal videogame will be a massive disappointment to millions of gamers globally.

In all fairness, developer CD Projekt Red has done an amazing job of reassuring people the game will be worth the wait. First, everyone's favourite celebrity Keanu Reeves will be the lead character. Then there’s news it will be jam-packed with customizations.

To expound more, Cyberpunk 2077 is an RPG based on a futuristic, lawless and crime-filled albeit technologically advanced California. It will star a highly customizable mercenary nicknamed “V.” You can personalize everything about V, from skin tones and fighting styles to weapons and the decisions he makes.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on all major gaming devices: Google Stadia, Xbox One, PS4, PC and Xbox Series X. The only device yet to announce whether it will support the game is PS5. But then again, it’s not completely out.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla — 10th November

Vikings-inspired videogames never get old. That explains the wild hype around Assassin’s Creed Valhalla—a game based on alternative facts. Precisely, the Ubisoft-created game imagines a world in which a leading Viking is caught between the conflicts of the Brotherhood and the Templar Order.

It's an open-world action-adventure game in which you lead Vikings in their quest to conquer English-speaking kingdoms. You lead the Vikings as Eivor—a male or female raider. You can also customize your character's clothes, tattoos, hair and warpaint.

Like many Vikings in the dark ages, Eivor will have an animal companion: a raven called Synin. He also features shields, swords, flails and other weapons of the time. Other cool features are that he can pull on his hood, distract guards with his raven or pull a hidden sword for instantaneous kills.

Hot Gems Extreme—November

Hot Gems Extreme is a new Megaways slot by developer Playtech scheduled for release in November. It’s a Christmas-themed online game. And you can play it at some of the best slot sites in the USA for 2020 as reviewed by https://slots.info/sites/usa/. But is it a good game?

Based on the available information, Hot Gems Extreme will feature six reels and up to 262,144 ways to win. Naturally, that makes it a high-variance game: pays generous amounts but scarcely.

Hot Gems Extreme works a little bit differently than most Megaways. It starts with 4,096 pay lines and a 6x4 reel format. But after you hit free spins, the pay lines expand gradually and the reel format changes into 3x3.

You take the role of father Christmas. But instead of dishing out gifts to children. You pick a pickaxe to mine diamonds and gemstones. Hit the right gems and you could walk away with thousands of dollars.

Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition — 15th October

After six years of waiting, Age of Empires III is coming mid this month. For the uninitiated, it’s a real-time strategy game by developer Ensemble Studios. However, it will take a different direction from its predecessor.

It will trade-off swords for guns and catapults for cannons. Additionally, it will feature revamped graphics and a new storyline. Instead of sword fights against Persians, the new Age of Empires will feature eight European countries as they fight to control the Americas.

Of course, it's the usual suspects: Britain, Spain, France, Germany, Portugal, Dutch, Russia and Belgium. However, some more countries will make cameos. Interestingly, each of the countries will rely mostly on war technology they are famous for.

Amnesia: Rebirth

Horror videogame fans will have something to celebrate before Christmas. That’s unless Frictional Games’ upcoming title Amnesia: Rebirth fails to live up the hype. So far, the game’s trailer shows a game designed to not only terrify you but also to change your whole perception of the world.

In other words, this year's Amnesia game will feature more than just jump scares. It will evoke all emotions you can imagine of—mostly negative emotions. The storyline will also put you on the spot numerously and you'll need to make tough decisions to advance levels.

For example, your primary source of light as you cross through the Algerian desert is matchlight. Sure, it will provide lighttight for all directions, unlike a torch. But it will also blow off easily when you walk fast.

The lead character won’t be flawless either. She will suffer from ailments, get separated from family and become overcome by fear. And if you fail to protect her, it will jeopardize all efforts to complete her missions.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity — 20th November

Hyrule Warriors is a stopgap videogame meant to explain what happened 100 years before Link woke up. It’s an exciting game for everyone that enjoyed Breath of the Wild. And it will probably provide a sneak peek of what to expect in Breath of the Wild 2.

Age of Calamity will feature a stage-based system where you will lead Zelda, Link and the Four Champions into combat. Like the original, the new game will feature numerous cut scenes. But since Nintendo wasn't involved in the development process, there will be some significant gameplay changes.

Fortunately, the game will feature the same developers as the original. So, when it comes to weapons, character developments and abilities, you can expect Age of Calamity to be phenomenal.
