THQ Nordic Digital Showcase 2023 Overview

THQ Nordic Digital Showcase 2023 Overview

Publisher THQ Nordic is known for many big names in the industry, such as the recently released Remnant II, the upcoming Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy, and BIOMUTANT, to name a few. As such, whenever they organise a showcase, you can be sure something memorable is on the way, and this year was no exception! Here is a short compilation of what we saw and what was announced:

Outcast - A New Beginning

The first title we were shown was Outcast - A New Beginning, the action-adventure sequel to the 1999 title of the same name! In the trailer, we see how Cutter Slade, the ex-Navy SEAL protagonist, interacts with the Talans, the inhabitants of planet Adelpha, and helps them recover their homes. A ubiquitous theme in the game is how everything is connected: the more you help the Talans recover their homes and fight against the Invaders, the more the environment will change, and the more the skills and weapons they provide improve! Promising to be a new take on the open-world genre, Outcast focuses on allowing the player to progress in the game as they prefer, forgoing the tower climbing and checklists prevalent in similar games. Finally, the game looks absolutely gorgeous and flying around in a jetpack or beasts you’ve tamed and reared looks like a great time! Outcast - A New Beginning is getting close to opening up Beta testing, so keep your eyes on this one!

Titan Quest 2

17 years ago, Titan Quest was released, bringing with it an epic adventure set in mythical Greece, following the exploits of a single hero taking on all the beasts, dangers, and gods ancient Greece can throw at them. During the following years, the game received multiple expansions, building on the story and exploring different settings, such as the underwater city of Atlantis and even Norse mythology, in addition to an anniversary edition to celebrate the game's 10th anniversary. Now, THQ Nordic has announced the long-awaited sequel, Titan Quest 2! Following its predecessor’s footprints by being set in ancient Greece once again. Nemesis, the goddess of divine punishment, has plans for our hero. Plans that may rock the very foundations of fate itself! As the title was just announced, there is currently no available gameplay footage, but we do know it will. Titan Quest 2 will be available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Space For Sale

Announced last year, Mirage Game Studios’ colourful property development game Space for Sale received a new trailer detailing the adorable title and its gameplay! Set in a sandbox world, the player takes control of a cute little astronaut whose job is to create and develop small plots of land to fit the client’s requirements. Explore the planet to find the perfect location, gather resources to craft buildings and decorations, and keep up with ever more demanding clients and their needs! The happier your clients are, the more you gain, after all. The local fauna may add a nice touch of nature, but beware, as not every creature is benign or friendly. Space for Sale is playable solo, or you can ask a friend to join you in a co-op mode. The game will be PC exclusive, with a closed beta period opening up soon for those astronauts who can't wait to get on the real estate market!

And there you have it! Three games ranging from sci-fi to fantasy, action to laid-back, all promising good times to be had. While we still get our hands on the games presented in the showcase, we’re looking forward to seeing how they turn out and whether they can live up to the promise they showed! If Titan Quest 2 is to be believed, many things can fray the threads of fate. Are you looking forward to any of the titles or did you find a new game to look forward to? Let us know in the comments!
