Top Games Releases for May 2022

retrogamergirl here and once again I am listing off the top five games that I am excited to see coming out in May. Artura is away so it is a shorter list than usual, but I guarantee you it is full of great-looking titles!

Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters — 5th of May

warhammer

In this fast-paced turn-based tactical RPG you lead the Grey Knights into battle against The Bloom, a cosmic plague created to infect worlds. Warhammer has a story-driven campaign, beautiful cinematics, and the ability to create your own squad of Daemonhunters. Your choices matter as the skills of your Grey Knights can lead to victory or loss.

This game looks epic, and I have heard great things about the series so I am excited to try this one out!

Evil Dead: The Game — 13th of May

Evil Dead The Game Title Ash Characters

If you are a fan of the Evil Dead movies, you are in for a treat! Take on the role of Ash Williams or one of his friends from the Evil Dead franchise working together in a game full of over-the-top PvP multiplayer action and co-op! You will have to loot, explore, and manage your fear as you play as a team of four survivors trying to seal the open breach between worlds. The title is inspired by all the films in the franchise, along with the Ash vs Evil Dead television series.

Evil Dead: The Game looks like it will be a super fun and campy time to enjoy with your friends and other players online! I’m sure it will be a fight between everyone trying to be Ash, cause he’s pretty awesome!

Vampire: The Masquerade — Swansong — 19th of May

vampire

Vampire: The Masquerade started life as a tabletop board game then transitioned over to become a videogame. This new entry in the series is still a single-player, narrative-driven role-playing game, set in a dark and moody world with a unique gothic feel known as the World of Darkness. The story features three vampires from different clans who are about 100 years old, each with differing views on the vampire sect the Camarilla, who are responsible for the Masquerade — the practice of staying hidden from humanity.

This dark world looks great and moody, the stories between the different vampires feel elaborate and deep, and it should be interesting to see how they come together as they investigate the shootout in Boston trying to figure out who is behind the attacks and why.

Snow Bros. Special — 19th of May

snowbros

I have always loved the Snow Bros. game, ever since I rented it on the original NES when I was a kid. It’s now 30 years later and brothers Nick and Tom are finally back in this modern recreation; the cute looks and gameplay are still here but it’s been upgraded to make it more fun.

Snow Bros. Special offers a new “Monster Challenge” mode that lets you play as the monsters in the levels. Each monster is unique and has their controls and special moves changing how you play the game. I am really curious to check this out and see what happens if you are playing with two players and how it will work out!

Pac-Man Museum+  — 27th of May

pacman

Another game that I have been a huge fan of since I was young is Pac-Man. I am very excited to see this huge compilation featuring 14 titles from Pac-Man’s history. Surely some of them will be better than others, but it will still be fun to play through the different games that weren’t released outside of Japan or others that I just missed out on!

I have never heard of a few of the titles like Pac & Pal, and I know the Pac-Man characters showed up in the Mario Kart arcade title but I never knew that Pac-Man had its own racing game! I think this collection is going to be a lot of fun!

These are the five games that I’m most excited for, are there any that I have missed listing? Let me know in the comments below! Have a great month of gaming and I will see you next time for June’s list!
