Aether & Iron Shares Fifth Dev Diary for Upcoming Story-rich Tactical RPG

Seismic Squirrel and Chaos Theory Games have shared a brand-new trailer for their upcoming Aether & Iron. This story-rich tactical RPG is set in an alternate 1930s in New York City, as players unravel the dark secrets that float under the metropolis.

The latest trailer is the fifth dev diary for the anticipated title, as the team talks a bit about what inspired the noir world. This includes looking at the early, steampunk-inspired art style into the more grounded 1930s and 1950s look that we see today.

On the dev diary, we learn more about how Leyendecker, Hugh Ferris, Bioshock, and 1930s pulp fiction slowly affected Aether & Iron's world. It was an iterative process, and it shows a glimpse at some of the gameplay elements and the unique and beautiful art that the game bolsters.

If you're just learning about Aether & Iron, the title is a story-rich tactical RPG set in an alternative 1930s New York, featuring flying cars and anti-gravitational technology. Players will need to muster a crew and engage in turn-based vehicular combat across the flying streets of the city, all in the hopes of saving New York.

If you'd like to learn more about the process, or you're checking out all sorts of Aether & Iron content ahead of its launch, don't miss out on the trailer embedded above. The game is set to release on the 31st of March on PC via Steam, with a demo live now
