AI Use and GameGrin

We at GameGrin believe that anything worth doing is worth doing by a human. Generative AI is lazy, looks terrible, is unfactual, and actively damages the environment. For these reasons, we have taken the decision to stop reviewing and previewing any game which has an AI Disclosure on Steam.

If you didn’t care enough to make the game, we don’t care enough to cover it.

As a result of multiple big titles only adding a Disclosure after the game has released, we will no longer be reviewing AAA games before launch. This has the added benefit of allowing our writers more time to play a game and not have to rush through things in an attempt to hit an embargo.

Any game that we cover which adds in AI content at a later date will be given a disclaimer in bold right at the top of the review. 

Our readers are our lifeblood, and while hitting embargoes brings in visitors, we don’t feel that giving generative AI legitimacy by covering games using it is worth the clicks.
