Alabaster Dawn Launches with New Trailer

Radical Fish Games has been hard at work on its second title, Alabaster Dawn. After the booming success that was CrossCode, with its numerous updates and single-player MMORPG elements, players were left wondering about the future of their universes, stories, and what to expect from the upcoming sequel.

CrossCode launched to Early Access back on the 15th of May 2015, and it had three years of development before its full 1.0 launch on the 21st of September 2018. Throughout the evolution, players uncovered a lengthy narrative (easily spanning over a hundred hours), various dungeons, and even post-game content, including challenges.

CrossCode's development ended in 2021, when the 26th of February saw the CrossCode: A New Home DLC launch that included 8–10 new hours of content, a dungeon, new enemies and bosses, and more. And though the DLC ended in a teaser for a possible sequel to CrossCode, Radical Fish Games announced that there are no plans for a new story taking place in the world — they'd been developing the same game for nine years, and wanted to explore something new.

That's when the development for Alabaster Dawn, called Project Terra at the time, was announced. The team mentioned this in the final update to CrossCode for version 1.4, where we learned that more information would be shared in the coming months, and full development kicked off since then.

Now, Radical Fish Games has shown off and launched Alabaster Dawn to Steam Early Access on the 7th of May 2026, inviting players to enjoy a new story and setting. It's a highly anticipated return for such a dedicated developer, and the title promptly reached the Overwhelmingly Positive tag on Steam after its launch, with 989 reviews at the time of writing.

The one-minute-long launch trailer published on the official RadicalFishGames YouTube channel shows off the world, CrossCode-like combat, and the elements that make Alabaster Dawn unique. It's a story about reviving the world and leading the rebirth of humanity, fighting against Nyx's curse.

You can check out the trailer embedded above, and Alabaster Dawn is out on Steam Early Access, with an undefined window for the 1.0 launch (as the team stated it'll remain in Early Access as long as it's necessary to complete the main story). It's expected to run for at least two years, though it might go longer depending on player feedback, scope, and more.
