All of the League of Legends Classic Champions That Are Confirmed, And All of the Eligible Ones For Future Releases
Riot Games just announced the upcoming release of League of Legends Classic, a game mode for the 2026 Season 3 period, where we'll be able to enjoy the old times of the MOBA. For newcomers, this is a great opportunity to enjoy League of Legends as it was before all of the thousands of updates that have turned it into what it is today (with hundreds of reworks, hundreds of new champions, overhauls, and more).
With the new update, we wanted to take a look at all of the original League of Legends champions that were released to get an idea about which sort of champions we can expect in the roster. We know that the first 40 champions are confirmed, so we'll be taking a look at all of them.
Here are all of the original League of Legends champions:
- Alistar
- Annie
- Ashe
- Fiddlesticks

This is the foundation of our 40 champions that we'll have, and we know that there are another 20 that were hand-picked. League of Legends Classic is based on the first three Seasons of the game, which means that they can be from any time period spanning between the launch (on the 26th of October 2009) to Season 3 (we're assuming the ending of Season 3, so on the 11th of November 2013).
We know that the launch roster for League of Legends Classic will be 60, so 20 champions between these four years will be released. In addition to this, we know that major updates for Classic will be decided by The Council, which is entirely player-voted and weighted depending on your Classic Level. New champion additions will be within these four Seasons, so only champions launched between this timeframe will be eligible to add.
Brace yourselves, as there are 76 options to choose from (20 of which Classic will launch with, meaning there will be 56 champions to vote to add — this will be a blood bath). Here are all of the champions released between Season 1 and Season 3:

One funny note is that Yasuo, one of the most famous and hated champions in League of Legends, missed the mark by two months, releasing on the 13th of December 2013. There might be an exception made, but considering Riot Games is trying to avoid making a lot of dashes to bring back the true Classic feel, it's unlikely.
