Avorion Early Access Trailer

The genre of space simulator has been a crowded one of late, so a game definitely needs a hook to pull you in. Avorion has a couple of hooks -- there is a main objective, and you have to build your own ship.

You can see from the trailer above that construction is modular, and kind of a cross between LEGO and Minecraft. You build a hull, then add weapons and equipment to it.

Then you must take your ship on a journey to the centre of the galaxy, where the rewards - and risks - are greater. You can make your way there in many ways; trading, mining, scavenging, or building a fleet to go to war. You can even bring your friends along, or hire AI captains to pilot your other ships.

Avorion is entering Early Access on 23rd January.
