Awesome Indies GC 2025: Nice Day For Fishing

FusionPlay and Team17 are working on bringing the pixelated 2D RPG adventure that’s centred around fishing to consoles! In it, players will embody Baelin — a humble fisherman who is about to go on a journey that’ll make him the next hero. Nice Day For Fishing has been out on Steam since the 29th of March 2025, and it has accrued nearly 2,000 reviews and an 88% Very Positive score.

During the Awesome Indies GC show, we got to see a trailer for the title that showcases music, visuals, and gameplay, including exploration, fishing, and building. We highly suggest checking it out, if not just for the parallels to the YouTube videos!

A Nice Day For Fishing is set to release sometime this year for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5; it’s available to wishlist and pre-order. At the time of writing, it’s also at a 20% discount on Steam until the 25th of August!
