Blades of Fire Releases New Trailer Covering Two Difficulties for Version 2.0
MercurySteam and 505 Games have been ramping up the trailers for Blades of Fire's Steam release, as the title frees itself from the Epic Games exclusivity contract. Moving on from its original launcher, players are invited to check out the action-adventure title, which is coming with a massive Version 2.0 launch to encourage newcomers and veterans alike to revisit the experience.
The latest trailer shows off what we can expect for the new Titanium difficulty, which is a brand-new mode for players to engage with. While it isn't intended for newcomers, this new experience challenges players to try a version of Blades of Fire previously unavailable, bringing a slew of changes to the gameplay.
First, there's the obvious element of increasing enemy stats. Every foe will deal an increased 20% damage, alongside having significantly stronger armour and health, meaning that every fight lasts longer, making every move even riskier.

Titanium also affects boss encounters, and it's more than just beefing up stats and calling it a day, as they've been entirely rebalanced for the new highest difficulty experience. New timing mechanics have been implemented, rewarding timing-based combat that ensures the player plays precisely and learns more about enemy patterns.
Finally, various anvils across the world have been cursed, which will no longer work as resting points to restore health or fast-travel to others. This means that more precision and expertise will be needed to traverse between longer paths that stand between rest points, meaning less health to distribute across longer spans of distance.
Titanium, as a whole, is expected to be played by veterans of the experience who know how weapon management and enemy patterns work. It'll require a deeper understanding of enemies, keeping weapons in a good state, and elements of build and combat.

After touching on the Titanium difficulty, we learn about the New Game + feature that'll be arriving in Version 2.0, which was a highly requested addition to Blades of Fire. After completing the story for the first time — in any difficulty — players will be able to restart the adventure, keeping most of their upgrades.
New Game + will carry the following stats into the new save:
- Skills and upgrades
- Health and Stamina gems
- Weapons and blueprints
- Materials
- Forge memory
- Codex Content
- Arcana Spells
- Unlocked Skins

All of these will be carried over to be able to enjoy your build to the fullest. However, this will also make it so that enemy damage scales with your maximum health, increasing the overall difficulty of the experience and testing your build and fully-kitted character to its maximum.
The build is far from over whenever entering New Game +, as brand-new weapon parts have been introduced to the experience. This means that experiencing the story again will be an important part to mastering every element of weapon forging, as 27 new statues, alongside brand-new parts, will be available exclusively in the replay, giving more reason to try a second run.
Version 2.0 brings both Titanium and New Game + as free-to-play experiences to enjoy, and combining both of these will test a player's mettle to the fullest. Blades of Fire releases on Steam alongside the massive update on the 14th of May 2026.
