Bloody Hell Hotel Talks Dungeons!
Unfold Games is developing and publishing Bloody Hell Hotel — an upcoming hotel management title where players embody a vampire! This spooky game is set to release sometime at the end of 2026.
Recently, the team pulled back the veil on dungeons, showcasing various images and offering more details about what players can expect. The post begins with them explaining that they wanted to strike a balance between the replayability of procedurally generated and handcrafted content.
Each one is meant to be endlessly deep and unique; once the hatch closes behind the player, they won't be able to access the previous level. The lower the level, the better the rewards become!

The team wanted it so that the deeper the floor, the bigger and more elaborate the level would become, but they didn't want players to get lost or frustrated. To avoid this, they've added no maze-like layouts or backtracking: the only challenge is whether you can take on the next area.
Once they decide they'd like to leave, players have two options: Elevators and Minecart Stations. The former allows them to leave whenever they want, but they will leave their loot behind; the latter appears every few floors but will allow players to take everything they have.
Minecart Stations can also be repaired, not just used. While this is costly, it will create a permanent checkpoint, allowing players to return to that level in future expeditions.
Bloody Hell Hotel is set in a world where resources are scarce, so players will need to rely on dungeons to maintain their hotel business. They're also the place where ancient artefacts can be found, which uncover lore and unlock new skills.

While dungeons offer combat, this won't be the main focus — instead, exploration, discovery, mining, and looting are. For players who get bored or just don't like dungeon crawling, there's a fix: they can send gnomes who will do it for them. They will be slower, but the option is there! Another option is to bring one of the six pets to help.
The team talks about how they are still aiming for the end of 2026 for release, but that game development is finicky and unpredictable. Which reminds me to add: please be patient with developers who have to resort to delaying their game!
If you'd like to join their upcoming AMA on the 19th of June at 7:00 PM BST, it will be hosted on their Discord. If you want to check out all the images shared, take a peek at their Steam post!
