Bongo Cat Releases New Poll Feature With First Test Receiving Hundred Thousand Votes

Bongo Cat has been an industry phenomenon, claiming the crown from Banana, engaging in the same gameplay element, all the while creating a cute little idle pet for players to enjoy. It's been actively supported, with various updates released throughout the year since its launch, including 200-player multiplayer, premium items sold with regional pricing, and much more.

The latest update came as a surprise for many players on the weekend starting on the 18th of March. Without an announcement or an update to the title, a pop-up appeared above the widget, where players could vote on a poll that was available for a limited time.

It read as follows:

Time to vote!

The screenshot presented by developer Marvel showed 105,022 total respondents, with 73% in favour of yes. It was a quick test created by one of the developers, which stood out to some players who still decided to vote and see what awaited them on the other side.

Then, a new patch on the 20th of April clarified the addition, as players will now be offered the opportunity to vote on community polls, which Marcel states will use to get feedback regarding decisions, which will be handled directly in-game. It's a novel feature, and with a developer who has been so community-driven and added plenty of quality-of-life updates to Bongo Cat, it's likely to become a pivotal moment for the game's growth following community feedback.

It's worth noting that the 27% of players who voted they weren't interested in future community polls were immediately excluded from participation. This is a way for the team to respect their decision, all the while keeping the voting for those who are most interested in engaging with the system.

Stay tuned for more community polls, and we'll see how this is used to affect the future of the game even further.
