Call of the Elder Gods Announces Release Date in Newest Trailer

Out of the Blue Games and publisher Kwalee's Call of the Elder Gods is the sequel to 2020's critically- and audience-acclaimed Call of the Sea. The new sequel has players unearthing ancient horrors as they explore a world inspired by H.P. Lovecraft's "The Shadow out of Time".

Announced on the 7th of June 2025, the title quickly became anticipated by those who followed the original. Bringing in gameplay updates from Call of the Sea with a brand-new narrative, it'll also feature all sorts of upgraded visuals, built with Unreal Engine 5 for all of the surreal environments.

The one-minute-long trailer gives players the chance to look at some of the locations and puzzles that they can expect. Dealing with a Lovecraftian monster, it also features unearthly locations for players to uncover.

We also learned about the imminent release for Call of the Elder Gods, as the trailer closes out with a launch date. Players looking forward to checking it out can expect to play the game on the 12th of May on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X|S.
