Nicolas Meyssonnier's Pumpkin Jack is aiming to recapture that PlayStation 2 era of 3D platformers with the sheen and graphical fidelity of a 2020 release. If this trailer's anything to go by, the solo developer looks to be on the right track: Pumpkin Jack presents a colourful, energetic Halloween-themed world that looks like a treat to explore. Check out the launch trailer above and look out for Pumpkin Jack when it releases on Xbox One, Switch, Steam, GOG and the Epic Games Store on 23rd October (PlayStation 4 release coming later).
A labour of love from just one developer, Pumpkin Jack is a 3D platformer with real-time combat and puzzle-solving elements. Players take on the role of Jack, the "mythical pumpkin lord" created as an agent of chaos in a world that's ravaged by the struggle between good and evil. That all sounds very dramatic, but rest assured, Pumpkin Jack brings enough cartoonish humour and colour to keep the senses engaged.
Pumpkin Jack releases 23rd October for Xbox One, Switch, Steam, GOG and the Epic Games Store (PlayStation 4 release coming at a later date).
