Crash Bandicoot is returning for a brand new title! Well, sort of. It’s a mobile game, and it appears to be in a similar vein to the once highly popular Temple Run.
The information comes from Twitter user “@jumpbuttoncb” who claims to have found leaked advertisements for the game via a Brazilian Facebook page. The game is being developed by King (the studio behind Candy Crush), which also happens to be a subsidiary of Activision, Crash Bandicoot’s current publisher.
There’s currently no footage or release date tied to the game, but a Storemaven listing which has since been taken down divulges some specific details. The core gameplay appears to be what’s expected from a Temple Run clone, with players having to avoid obstacles while constantly running forward while obtaining as many Wumpa fruits as possible.
What’s most notable is the supposed base building system. The listing details features such as “Unlock key buildings and create an arsenal of weapons”, and “Grow and harvest crops to produce powerful serums.” This seems like it could be indicating that there will be some kind of progression system or upgrade system to give players some more advantages.
Crash most recently appeared in last year’s Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, which is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
