Perhaps best known for their copious Neptunia and Fairy Fencer games and publisher of many, many others, Idea Factory recently announced that the genre-blending and bizarrely-named adventure, Death end re;Quest, released in April this year, will be making the trip to North America early next year.
In Death end re;Quest, the player must tackle the mystery of a videogame creator trapped within their game. The protagonist must search for clues in the real world while simultaneously tackling an infestation of bugs - that is, actual, literal bugs, that want to feast on the game's only active "player": the game's missing creator.
Players will be able to switch the game's mechanics and genre at will, going from RPG to fighter to shooter, and even a "slot" mode. Outside of combat, they must explore the game world with various character-specific abilities and skills, as well as exploring the real world for clues as to why the game's creator is trapped within. The only way to save her is to beat the game with her still in it.
The game is slated for a North American and European release for PlayStation 4 in early 2019.
