EVERSPACE 2's First Content Update Includes a Little Bit of Everything

The first major content update for ROCKFISH Games' Early Access space sim RPG EVERSPACE 2 is set to release through Steam and GOG on the 28th April. Rather than focus on majorly expanding any one aspect of the game, the update, known as "Union: Contracts/Hinterland", instead sprinkles over a little bit of everything, from ships to missions, enemies to loot and beyond. Read on for an overview of what'll be coming when the update lands later this month.

  • New Ship - A Heavy-class Bomber. This behemoth of a ship regenerates shields by causing damage and allows for secondary weapons to use energy instead of ammo. Oh, and it's packing the all-new, devastating ARC-9000 Ultimate ability, which launches a ball of sheer destruction.
  • New Missions - Three main missions and three side missions featuring all-new characters, enemies and scenarios.
  • New Companion - Fan-favourite Elek, rescued during one of the update's main missions, will be a new addition to the companion roster. You'll be able to upgrade his perk tree and call upon him to aid you in combat.
  • Boss Fight - The game's second boss encounter will see players facing off against The Ancient Warden from the first EVERSPACE.
  • New Sub-Faction - An Outlaw sub-faction known as Bloodstar, complete with new combat capabilities and faction-exclusive gear to loot.
  • More Mission Types - More puzzle and pursuit missions have been added as side-diversions.
  • Game Balancing - The level cap has been raised slightly, and the game has seen an overall rebalancing.

For more information on the upcoming content update for EVERSPACE 2, check out the game's Steam update page. You can also watch the latest ROCKFISH Games community live stream, led by Erik Schrader, to watch the all-new Bomber ship in action.

The "Union: Contracts/Hinterland" update for EVERSPACE 2 launches on the 28th April on Steam Early Access and GOG's Games in Development program.
